I dont know but if you are remotely anything compared to me then you would have to agree reading sentences like “Present Progressive Tense” is the main reason learning to speak a language has never been very enjoyable !! So lets put this all in layman’s terms so we can completely understand. Getting down to its core meaning it denotes simply that you are actually doing something. This is formed by the root of the verb plus -ing. Do –> Doing. Walk –> Walking. So do you pretty much understand this ? If so let’s just move on.

Let me take you back a little bit in time….do you remember the very first lesson we had on conjugating regular verbs ?? Here we learned about -ar verbs. That is verbs like hablar whch means to speak. Now in today’s lesson we are going to learn spanish online and take these verbs like hablar and turn them into words like “speaking”.

In learning to speak spanish, these particular verbs are formed by taking away the -ar and adding -ando. Just as an example lets take hablar ! Now it would turn into hablando. This is pretty easy isn’t it ?? Now lets look at a couple more sentences to really put this into your Brain,

Ella esta bailando con las otras chicas which means She is dancing with the other girls

Nosotros estamos leyendo un libro juntos which means We are reading a book together
