Learning to Speak Spanish with the Family…….

(Filed under learning to speak spanish, learn to speak spanish )

Family is really such an important part of the culture in South America and all of the hispanic speaking countries !! To a degree even more so than some of the cultures in the West including the US !! In todays short lesson we will be learning some spanish words relating to the family. You can use these words and combine them with what you have already learned in learning to speak spanish. And hopefully be able to construct full sentences !!

Novio/ Novia means boyfriend/girlfriend

Nieto/ Nieta means grandson/granddaughter

Tio/Tia means uncle/auntie

Sobrino/Sobrina means nephew/niece

Primo/Prima means male cousin/female cousin

Hermano/Hermana means brother/sister

Hijo/Hija means son/daughter

Padre/Madre means father/mother

For most of us the family is so important and is a vital part of our lives. Todays short lesson hopefully gave you some more foundation in building you a way to better learn to speak spanish. This language is not easy to learn. But it is well worth your time to at least learn to speak it to a small degree !!

The advantages as we have mentioned are very numerous. Whether you are a small business owner or an officer in a multi-national Corporation learning to speak spanish can really pay off handsomely for you !!

I think you should set a pace to learn to speak spanish. And I think a good goal is to be able to converse for at least 5 minutes with a fluent spanish speaker by the end of 2009.

With some work and time this can be done. And imagine how impressed your friends and family will be when you start reeling out those spanish words from your mouth !! :)
