Adjectives and Gender
Adjectives are words that describe nouns. In Spanish, adjectives also change depending on what in particular you are talking about. ust have a peek at the following examples to see exactly what I am talking about.
El muchacho largo / The tall boy
Note the use of El, when talking about a male? Also note how largo ends in an o.
La muchacha larga / The tall girl
Here, make note that “La” is used instead of “El”. This is because the sentence is about a female, which is a feminine thing. You should also note that largo has changed into larga.
Las pantolones azul / The blue pants
Los libros azul / The blue books
I know that all this at times can seem somewhat overwhelming. And it can be confusing at first. Lets be honest when you learn to speak spanish at first it can seem to be impossible. But remember through time things will become easier and easier. You just need to put in some effort and time to learn to speak spanish. The key is to just practice, practice, and practice. Once you have got a basic understanding to learn easy spanish, you will begin to be able to read and understand more and more , and things will start becoming more natural and automatic.
